We don’t own any cats (or any other animals) so I don’t know why the local cats have started using a small patch of lawn right under my living room window as a bathroom. It smells terrible, I have tried the cat repellents sold in stores but it hasn’t helped to keep them away. Now that the summer heat has arived the smell is really awful. Anyone got any ideas on how to get rid of the odor and to permanently discourage the cats?
I have one rose bush and a jasmine vine, other than that it’s just grass.

My cat often gets matted fur, and the vet told me that it was okay for me to shave her myself. She has been shaved professionally before, but the mats keep coming back.

Jack Lapidus asked:

I’ve been feeding her science diet food for about a year now and I just found out that apparently it’s crap food. I asked questions on here so I decided my solution would be Blue Buffalo. I can’t mix the Blue Buffalo food with the science diet because the stupid company changed their food (which my cat refuses to eat) and I ran out of the kind that my cat is used to. So how do I get my cat to eat the new food? She hasn’t eaten much lately.

How do you litter train a kitten who is used to being in a barn?

Just got a 10-12 week old kitten. She was a barn cat, I’ve put her in the litter box, but she just wants to jump out. I have a rabbit and when I opened her cage, the kitten went to the bathroom in the cage. I’m not going to leave the door open, and I put some cedar chips in the litter box, just because she smelled it. She has worms so I’ve given her medicine. I don’t want runny crap all over the place. She’s a sweet kitten, but I can’t have it using the bathroom all over my house. And, I am keeping her inside, no options on that one. Any help would be great.

How often do I feed a kitten, and how do I get rid of and prevent fleas?

Today some kids came by the house asking if we wanted a kitten. I am a sucker for small animals, and have always wanted a cat, but haven’t tried to get one b/c Lizzy (my little girl) once got all sneezy when we were in a house that had cats, so I assumed she was probably allergic. However, to test it, before I accepted the cat I had her smell the cat and (yay!) no sneezing. So now we have a pet kitten (about 9 weeks old or so). I fed her half a can of tuna, some water, and a little milk earlier, because we didn’t have cat food yet. I figured that was all she would need, but now she is jumping on the table trying to eat our soup. How often DO kittens need to be fed? Also, she was scratching herself, so my husband says she may have fleas. We of course went to the pet store to get supplies for her today and all flea removing/ preventing stuff said 12 weeks or older only.

Introverted extrovert asked:

I’ve had my 9month old kitten for about 10weeks now and she has settled in great. Next week I will be bringing home a new friend for her that is 9weeks old.
What is the best way to introduce them without overwhelming the baby kitten? Should I keep her in her carrier until my other cat gets her scent?
Should expect them to fight a little until she settles in?

I adopted an orphaned kitten at 3 weeks old. He is now 5 weeks old. I understand that clumping litter is not healthy for baby kittens so I’ve been providing him a small litter box filled with traditional clay litter. When can I let him use the litter box with the “grown ups”?
