Can a cat who has nursing kittens drink powdered Terramycin in her water?
She has six kittens. They are outside cats and I change their bedding everyday, but they are sneezing and have matted eyes. I have the cream to put in their eyes, but they are only a week old. Will it make her kittens better if she drinks the antibotic in water?

Only a vet will be able to tell, and if your vet didn’t know your cat was nursing when he prescribed the antibiotic, call him NOW! Some antibiotics could be bad for the kittens. If this is a antibiotic that was not prescribed for your cat, please don’t give it to them.
Kitty Colds are usually caused by a virus, and antibiotics won’t work. You will just be killing the good bacteria in the kittens stomach when the levels are just being established.

do not treat something that has not been diagnosed by a vet!!!

I certainly would not recommend medicating any nursing mother without first checking with a ‘real’ medical authority.
You will not get it here. Call a vet. Their advice is free.

you are not assured the proper dosage if you do it this way…Im not even sure that would be safe for the kittens…consult your vet and if he says it is safe then I would mix the powdered terramycin with some water in a dropper ( teaspoon) and give it that way…in the meantime I would clean the kittens eyes with warm water only and can you possibly bring them inside such as a garage or enclosed porch this should make them alot more healthy
