		<description>No, smell won't affect anything other than offending the scent receptors in your nose.  EATING the stuff may cause a problem, but if you're not in the habit of picking it up with your bare hands, you're safe.

I find that fewer cats poop in the grass if it's cut short.  This won't stop the raccoons or possums, but cats like taller grass.  If you put out a bowl of water, they won't poop near it, so that's always something to consider if you want to move them away from an area.</description>
