Can cats track down smells like a dog can?
For instance:
-Can a cat smell something and be able to remember that smell if they need to find it?
-Can a cat pick up a scent in the air and be able to follow it?
-Can a cat sniff out other cats if they are hiding?
I know a pretty good amount about cats but I don’t know about this.
Lol! Some cats are lazy.

Cats have a great sense of smell and are able to follow it and they can smell other cats. Cats have been known to be lost and yet find their way back home probably using the sense of smell.
I’ve known of a cat that was lost and found their way back two weeks later even though she lost weight.
Hope this helps answer your questions.

Okay, so my cat likes wet food that smell NASTY!!!, especially his wet squishy treats. Whenever I come back with the same food, he comes up and puts his nose to it. I’ve heard that cats react to smelly treats, so when I used some on him, he smelled it pretty well. I was using it to make him do certain tricks. I think that cats could possibly pick up scents in the air, I kind of know that they have good senses. I don’t think cats sniff each other out, maybe by feeling each other and touching them with their whisker-like eyebrows and normal long whiskers.
Anyways, I hope that helped a little in you research. have a good time!!!
