to make them sit you hold a kitty treat above and a little behind their head. if they sit give love and give her that cat treat! ilikecatsandilikekittens

Yes, mine do sit when they’re told and see commanding pointer finger at them. Nice, firmly, make your cat’s derriere go doan as you tell him/her: SIt” and treat him/her with cat treats or a good boy/gilr
they love it and eventually will sit witohut you telling them. They can learn many other commands/tricks as well. They are smarter than dogs! Minina

Cats are hard to train, but not impossible. Clicker training works, but it takes a lot of time and patience. Audrey A

A cat will only do what it wants, when it wants to. You can try. Good luck with that! ♥Pretty♥ ♥Kitty♥

They may not do those kinds of tricks. My male cat peewee goes to my room when I say bedtime. You will have to start when they are babies, it will be easier. What ever you try keep up the positive reinforcement, pats, kisses, treats, telling them that there good. peewee90210

Okay I know how to train a cat to sit. It will take a while. Hold a treat in your right hand. Train it in a place that is queit with no other people around. Start your cat in standing position. Let it look at the treat in your hand. The cat should have all of its attention on the treat. After it has its complete atten tion on the treat say SIT LOUD AND CLEAR. Put some pressure on it’s rump and it will sit down. After it sits down praise it and give it the treat. Cats will do stuff for a treat so have a treat that your cat likes. Do this 3-4 times. Do this right bfore its dinner so its hungry anough to want the treat. Rump means the place right by the cat’s tail on it’s back. kittyluv

Yes there is, but there’s no room to explain it all here. Suffice it to say that cats are more oriented to actual rewards than praise, so you need to be consistent in reinforcing their behavior. Although there are books on the topic, the best way to learn is from a professional cat trainer. dukefenton
