i believe cats will have to specially trained to actally use the toilet~it is so different than the litter box because well cats instincts are to dig somewhere to dispose there droppings~that will be a lot of work but I'm sure it can be done if you have a lot of patients! good luck!

well, If you had asked this question in a couple months, I may have a better answer for you.

But, I AM in the process of toilet training (For a human toilet) my two cats, ages 3 years and 5 years. The older is a girl, the younger is a boy, both fixed from 6 months or so old.

THey are doing really well.. An adult cat CAN BE TRAINED to use the toilet.

Basically, you buy something called "citikitty" and follow the steps on this website. My cats really seem to be doing okay. I think they'll take to it. But I'm going SLOW.. With an adult you have to go slower than with a kitten. BUT something to keep in mind, for at least a few weeks you WILL have to use a normal litterbox. CHanges have to be made gradually, step by step. Here's the website.

Good luck!!

well i don't think you can train them to really use it but a mother cat will put a kitten where she wnats the cat to go to the bath room after it eats and it licks the but or tummy of the kitten . you could try that but just use a wet washcolth that has warm water on it.
my cat tought her self just by watching me. sounds weird but she was 8 weeks when she first jumped on a toilet and went.

you could also try locking her in the bath room for a few days(if you haev more than one bathroom)

When I got my cat he was 6 weeks old, I had already prepared a litter box in anticipation of a hard time training. The first time I caught him going on the floor I scooped him up and put him in the litter box, he's been using it ever since. By the way, his birthday is coming up soon,April 13th. Born in 1999.
