With seven cats in the house, I have the exact same problem. Putting the kitten in the bathroom will only confuse it. With animals, the punishment needs to happen while they are doing what you want them to stop doing. In saying that, a spray bottle will work well. You could also clap and say "no" in a firm voice, but not yelling. If all else fails, pet and feed stores usually have a spray (can't remember the name) that you spray on the plant to deter the kitten. It's harmless, but it works. Good luck!

take a spray bottle and fill it with water. adjust the spray so it's not like a stream, but more of a spray and when you see her doing it, just squirt her with the water and she'll learn not to play in your plants

three things you can do... two have already been answered... Spray bottles work miracles (unless your cat likes water), toys, toys toys.. and a big variety of them - hanging toys, balls, puzzle toys (with a prize inside)
additionally, you could buy some of the kitty grass and catnip.
If none of this works, you're just going to have to wait it out. He will grow out of his playful kitten stage way too soon as it is (especially if he is an only cat).

the only thing that has worked for me is to put the plant where the cat can't reach them, on a narrow or small shelf or stand or up high. also, be sure to put any poisonous plants out of reach for sure!!

i've tried what all the other people have said, for one of my cats it worked, but the others it didn't, but give the squirt gun a shot!

An old wives tail is to put cayanne pepper on the soil of the plant. It won't hurt the plant and your cat won't want to even smell it!
Another thing you can do is spray your cat with water when she is doing something wrong. MAKE SURE you do not spray it near the face or ears, ONLY ON ITS BODY!!!

You should by your kitten a scrathing post or some kind of toy that the kitten would be able to hit. This would get the cat away from the plant because he will love the toys. My cat did that and we bought her this stick thing that has a feather at the end of it and she stopped hitting the plant and moved on to the feather.

Get a squirt gun and spray your kitten when she does this. Make sure she has plenty of toys to play with especially ones on strings. Try to dangle them in front of her. IE: One of those ones you hang from your door knob.
