hi i had a male cat that did it everyday try putting Clorox all around the sides of the porch and red pepper flakes.

that will stop him from spraying your porch and staying away also try lime that works better. one smell of that and he will not visit your porch again.

Most cats detest the smell of eucalyptus oil. Try getting some and sprinkling it (liberally) around the area you want it to avoid.

If you have other cats in your house, it won't be easy. It's that time of year when cats are on the prowl for mating. And obviously, he's not neutered. If you've seen him and he is an obvious stray, it would be best if you could trap him and take him to a shelter. He will not live long in the wild.

If he's somebody's lost kitty or one that is roaming free, he may have a chip implanted and an be re-united with his owner. If you know his owners, talk to them about getting him neutered or keeping him inside. Sadly, so many people think cats can fend for themselves and often move and leave them behind. So if you can make friends with him and get him to a shelter, it's probably the best solution.

I've found that "antispray" tactics don't work - they just spray on top of it to mark their spot. You may have some success with the mothballs.

You can try spraying citrus juice around the area and leaving peels where the cat can smell them but if he's intent on spraying in that spot they will likely not work. Trap him and bring him into the shelter.

Shoot it with a low powered air rifle or pistol. I say low powered because you don't want to wound it. you just want to stun it.

Hello, you can't stop them, especially if this is a wild cat, which I hope it is if you're even thinking about trapping it ... which is only LEGAL if the trap is on your property, but if your neighbors see it, you will be hated as the trap can & will catch anything drawn to it, if their pets disappear, they will blame you if they know you had a trap out ... we just clean things with Simple Green now & again, seems to sure help with the smell too ...Take Care :)

Trap it and get rid of it. Once they start to spray it is hard to get them to stop.
