		<description>Kittens can't control their claws till they reach late puberty, about 6 months of age.  Use a fingernail clippers to take the TIPS off the front claws--be extremely careful not to cut into the pink part where the blood supply is (it's painful and will bleed like crazy).  That will at least help.

Give them something to scratch on, or lay a blanket over the area they scratch to protect furniture.
