I've raised cats for 25+ years. Put the litter box in the bathroom. When you clean the urine up DO NOT throw the paper away; put it in the litter box. Cats will return to the same spot and locate that spot by smell. However to my surprise, she started going through the dog door and did her business outside which was great. I scrubbed and disinfected her litter box and let it sit in the sun to dry. She started to use her box again when she didn't want to go outside. I guess her box needed a good scrub rather than just having the litter cleaned and changed. Cats have very sensitive noses - place something that smells terrible to them.
