i would def try getting them papers from a therapist. I know it's hard, my bf and I lived in an apartment that allowed NO cats or dogs. We found a 2 kittens dying and hid them for a few months while looking for a new place.

lol. Personally I know my bf and I would need therapy if we had to give them up now. So good luck! I really hope you get to keep your cats. Or even try to strike up a deal with the apt manager, maybe pay additional pet rent and say you'll start looking for a new place so that you can move by the end of your lease. Cats really aren't troublesome at all they're quiet and clean. Anyway good luck again!

you would have to have some kind of ailment like being blind or deaf. and the animal was used to guide you or was trained to let you know when the phone rang or someone was at the door. cats are not used for this, no one is going to believe you on that one. did you have the cats when you moved in? if you got them after, you should have known it was only going to last till you got caught.

You dont.

Assistance animals are there to do things for their handlers that the handlers cannot do for themselves because of a disability, not because they are selfish beings who want what they want when they want it.

To even consider trying to pass off your cats as "assistance animals" just so you dont have to get rid of them shows that you are sorely lacking in the most basic tenents of Honor, Character, Dignity and Truth. But, you still have time to redeem yourself by not perpetuating this fraud. I urge you to reconsider your decision and rejoin the ranks of decent humanity.

For your cats to be considered ESA's, you generally need documentation from a mental health professional that they are essential to your mental and emotional well-being due to a disabling condition.

You can find more information here:

Ah duluth- loved the place, and would like to go back except for the winters.

Anyway, I don't think theres much you can do. Assistance Animals are those that are considered to help a human. For example, detect seizures, keep a person calm during an anxiety attack, help with picking up things, etc. If you can prove that your cats help you do this, you might be able to keep them, but more than one? I don't know. Your best bet is to board your kitties at a kennel and look for a new place. There are a lot of places in Duluth, and Superior that will take cats, especially now that students aren't looking for housing.

Eh, from what i've heard it's only TRAINED dogs. not cats.

Even if you wanted your cats to be "assistance" animals, it would take months of practice, in which you obviously don't have at this point and time.
