How do I get rid of cat and kittens that got into my garage?

kittens
J.V. asked:

I have a cat and kittens that got into the rafters of my garage through a hole. Do the male and female live with the kittens or just the female? If I capture the male and/or female, will the kittens leave on their own?

Call Animal Control and let them take care of it. Don’t do it yourself because there’s diseases wild cats can carry.

  5. Erin P Says:

hamburger meat with some rat poison will take care of them. lol…no, try to lure them out w/ food and like, drive them far far away!!!!!!

  6. Starrlina Says:

Just round them up and take to shelter if you aren’t afraid of them.

  7. Cindy L Says:

the male is long gone, hence the term Tom Catting around.

Call animal control or if you have an owl around, they eat cats. Leave your garage open and “call” the owl’s attention to the cats and good bye kitties.

This is why people need to SPAY AND NEUTER THEIR DAMN CATS

Don’t call Animal Control, often they put the animals to sleep after a certain time. Either call the Humane Society or the SPCA, they will take care of the animals.

  9. brittme Says:

No, it usually is just the female and the kittens. Call the human society department for the county that you live in, and they will either, come out and capture the animals, or be able to tell you who to call for help. Don’t take the mother cat without the kittens. They will die without her to eat from.

usually just the female will live with the kittens - infact some males will kill them

call your local animal shelter or SPCA and take them there or see if they offer somebody to come get them - there may be an owner looking for them - so this is the fairest thing to do.

if you dont know who to call, phone a vet and they will tell you

The cat probably is keeping rats & mice away..plus all kinds of things you don’t see
just let it live there it is ridding your property of bad critters…
have you seen any rats? Mice? snakes? bugs? the cat controls them so live peacefully with the outdoor cat weho has adopted you and your family

  12. Leonardo R Says:

I think you should call animal control or get them out of your garage and put them in your neighbors house!! hehehehehehe

  13. sair_davey Says:

Oh please don’t part the kittens with their parents - call an official to deal with it

  14. abuela Nany Says:

The male doesn’t live with the female…
The mother cat stays with her kittens until they are old enough to go out on their own…
If you capture the mother cat, and the kittens are very small, they will probably die up in the rafters…
You are best off trying to catch them all and taking them to your local Animal protection society.
(Once you’ve got the mother cat the kittens will probably come down to where you have her, which will make it easier to catch them)

  15. Mel Says:

Call the Humane Society, and get a live trap from them. The male(s) responsible for the kittens are long gone. You must catch and remove all of them from your garage, they aren’t going to leave on their own. And of course, plug the hole they got in through.

  16. macleod709 Says:

call animal control and then leave your garage door closed.

  17. brianna_the_angel777 Says:

sell them or take them to an animal shelter.

  18. starr11fan Says:

I know the cats can be annoying and inconvenient, but PLEASE dont abandon them some place else.
Call your local animal shelter to be picked up. They need to be around people asap or they will not be tame enough for adoption.
