Hello there, I have found the citrus peel (orange, lemon) quite good or you could try crushed moth balls sprinkled around your garden.

I do not recommend shop bought things not only are they expensive but have found they do not work.

The only other thing I can suggest, is if you have a zoo nearby ask if they have Lion excrement that should stop the little poppets.

Hope this helps and good luck

Check your local hardware store for this new sprinkler. It's expose to have a motion sensor on it so if an stray cat or some wildlife animal enters your yard the sprinkler will come on and soak them with water. I saw it in a flyer, but I forget which place had it.

I had the same problem several years ago and found the answer in Jerry Baker's helpful hints books. Orange peel. Cats do not like the scent. I ate lots of oranges and had people at work save them for me. Just place them around the places the cats spray and they will quit. They might move to a different location, just keep putting the peels down wherever they go and they will stop! Joey

Shoot them! No I'm kidding. Dont. If you live in the uk you can get reflective eye cats that you stick in your soil and the cats dont come near because they think its a real cat. You can get these from all goosd garden centres.

Alternatively you can get this thing that emits a high frequency noise that they can hear and we cant. that should help too

I sprinkle moth balls around my garden. Not only do my dogs and cats stay away, but so do squirrels and rabbits, so my flowers and veggies are not eaten by pesky critters.

Addition: Do not use ammonia, as that will just encourage them. Urine breaks down to ammonia and other by products, so they will be encouraged to spray that much more.
Also, don't count on cats not liking citrus smells. I have a cat that simply loves lemons and will roll on a slice if I put it on the floor for her.
