That would be the best time to do that, being you're already "messy" from feeding.

Like others have said, take a warm,. moist cotton ball or washcloth (I found washcloths work best because they're abrasive like a moma's tongue) and rub the anus and pee area (I can't think of it's technical name right now...dang!) in an upwards motion (think that kitties are usually on their backs and moma is usually licking "upward"), and they'll pee and poo. stormwarnfm

Kittens eyes usually open at 2 weeks of age. Kittens need to be stimulated after feeding until they are 3 weeks of age. You can use a warm, moistened wash cloth or cotton ball and gently rub it on the anal area to encourage elimination.

I found a good article on orphaned kitten care...please see the link below. Anne K

You don't have to get it to potty after eating. if its been awhile since they went then yes.
To get your kitten to potty just put the box beside them. They might still be too young but each time you take them out to go bring them to the box. They will get used to it. Çãñdÿ Bãbê

You may have to wipe their bottoms with a warm rag, this is what the mother does when they are still little. If they are over six weeks try tossing them into the litter box, they catch on very quickly. EarthKidd

They know how to go to the bathroom on their own, naturally. But just set them in the litter box, and talk to them and say "this is where you go to the bathroom" They might not use it straight way after they eat, and for a while they will have accidents until they grasp the concept that the litter box is where they need to do their business. Just keep setting them in the box though :] They'll get it soon enough. Shinni
