My kittens are about 4 weeks and still feeding from their mom. How old do they have to be before they can eat regular food?

Kittens will nurse up to 8 weeks old, but they start to sample canned and dry foods around 5 or 6 weeks old. They are NOT weaned from mom till 8 weeks old and they should stay with her and their siblings till a minimum of 10-12 weeks old to be physically and mentally ready to leave.
Kittens under 10 weeks old can have behavior problems leaving too soon.

6-12 weeks. Sometimes a bit longer, there is no definite and absolute, they all vary since each litter has individual needs.
