You may want to consider that. If you want kittens later there is never a shortage of them. There's no way to keep the cats separated 24/7 when the female is in heat. Why risk kittens from a young cat when you can prevent the problem up front? You'll either do damage to Christine if she's too young, and she won't know how to care for the kittens, or you'll wind up with 3-9 kittens that no one wants and they will wind up in a shelter and being euthanized. I read the previous answers, and I cannot see how that is possible. My grand mom has had about 20 cats, and none of them ever went into heat that early. I went to the vet with my male kitten and she said it will be around 10 months for him to go into heat as well. I would tell you that getting the cat spayed will be much better and even though it is, I have a cat right now with stitches in here from getting spayed and she is driving me up a wall.
