Earlier rather than later is the best option. If you begin to trim and groom them at a younger age, it will not become some problematic when they get old. My friend tried trimming her cat's claws for the 1st time when he was over a year old and it was not fun. We have to wrap him up in a towel now to do it. Good Luck and be careful to not cut them too short!

1. If they are old enough to play around like that, so I suppose they are about 2 months old, you can trim them. Just be careful to trim the ends, only a couple of millimeters, because there are blood vessels deeper down (I suppose you can see them in kittens, their claws are quite transparent)

There is no such age that is too young, just make sure that when you trim, you do not cut the 'quick', just the very tip. If they have clear nails it is easier to see the blood vessell, if they do not, just clip the very tip. If you are gentle, they will learn to sit quietly to get trimmed when they are older.
