I would keep her in a single room until she's older. Maybe I'm a worry-wart but I never liked letting kittens roam the whole house unsupervised. I usually baby proof a room and they stay in there.

5-6wks is way too young to be away from mom, I know she's dead so it's not possible to take her back. But that's playing a large part in her behavior.

All you can do is try to play with her enough to kill off some energy and baby proof a room for her. Or even a pack 'n play would work. You'll need a top though. 		<description>I had a bad situation with a young kitten.  Little sucker would get so wound up it drew blood.  Especially when we would first wake up or get home and it had been alone.  We fixed the problem with a playmate.  They had someone to play with and burn energy when we weren't available.
