Make sure your neighbours understand that the cats may be a bit hesitant at first, when we adopted our Kitty from the Shelter she was very very timid, we immediately set up a room for her and she hid there for a couple of weeks we would sit on the floor and let her come to us, now she is very happy in our home.

I think the best thing is to keep them in a guest room for the first couple days at least. Then, they can come in every once in a while to get the cats use to being around them. And eventually open the door so they can explore the new house a bit.
