What type? Hard for me to say. I'd take it to another vet or the vet clinic at your local shelter. They usually have a low cost option for people to have their animals treated. Other than that, I don't really know what to tell you other than that your boss should be ashamed of himself. That's a horrible attitude for a vet to have. Good luck. I don't think he should be against giving you some advice to what it could be because he thinks you should be paying him for the advice, which is selfish. If he tells you what it could be and the treatment(s) will be costly than you have to decide if you want to pay for them since he refuses to help or maybe put it down if you can't.
