Kittens are four days old, when do they start on the kitten food?
They are feeding from mum a lot but when do they go onto dried and wet kitten food? I understand worming is at 6 weeks, when is the first round of injections please?
Many thanks for your help.

I don’t know about the shots but I would check with your vet. They should know. As for the food, they will probably start eating kitten food at about 4-5 weeks old.

around 4-5 weeks..you will notice she is weaning them..then go with the wattered down kitten food.If they show intrest. Some don’t go with kitten food till 7 weeks. Shots are usually around
3-4 mos. 5-6 mos to spay or neuter.

You might want to ask your vet. I know that they need to stay with thier mom for 6 weeks and i think that is when you can feed the dry and wet cat food. but feed them the kitten formula. a nice treat for them is some milk that they make, when the mom has stopped. the dry food is good because it does not allow the tarter to build up on their teeth, but the wet food is nice and taste, but it really stinks! Hope this helps!

my vet told me 5/6 weeks for the kitten food and the shots at around 10/12 weeks old.

You Can start with food around 4 wks. I usually start with human baby food, the chicken, or turkey. If they eat that right up than you could try some wet food.
Around 6 wks I start introducing the kittens to dry food. Make sure you get KITTEN FOOD. Royal Canin make the best one in my opinion. It is called BABY CAT. the pieces are very small and easy for the kittens to chew.
People choose to vaccinate at different times. Most Reputable Breeders vaccination programme’s are 8wks and 12 wks.
You also need to De Worm the kittens at 6-8wks
Hope that helps

It’s going to be a few weeks. Mom will show them. How they are good about it.

Most momma cats will start to wean their kittens between six and eight weeks (if they do so earlier, the kittens will need to be bottle-fed). When they’re old enough, just put a dish of wet food or kibble wetted with water, milk, or egg down for them. Once you start putting food down for them, make sure they have access to water also. With their mum’s help, they should make the transition pretty easily.
As for worming and shots, you might want to talk with the vet who will be caring for your kittens. Some vets are starting to wait on shots until the kittens are older (six to twelve months) and some are holding off on worming also unless there is evidence of a worm infestation.
