Hello all. My vet tells me that a cat, like a human, can become pregnant until it is a senior. (??) He said a cat is considered a senior until she is 9 years old. I told him I thought it was 7. Maybe time to change vets? I’m also curious if an outdoor cat will roam off to make her nest when preparing for a litter. I know how long they are pregnant for and when you are able to see the signs but I’m not really sure what the oldest age is for a cat not to be able to become pregnant? Searched the internet but came up with nothing. Thanks a bunch!
Sorry, forgot to mention….this is a neighborhood stray cat I am told. I started to feed her only after I found out for sure that she was a stray. She was pretty thin and gained a few only after I started to feed her. Got hold of her only once to take her to the vet but she got away. Wild cats I hear are like that. I was told she had been around the neighborhood for at least the past five years. I did and do want to have her spayed but the last few days, I haven’t seen her. Just wanted to try and help the poor thing. A neighbor said he noticed the cat had recently grew a chubby lil’ belly. Just wasn’t and still not sure if she is indeed pregnant. Hope not but if I find her, I will be sure and take good care of her as I have so many others.

After several incidents of catching neighbors doing mean things to my cat, including throwing firecrackers at him, I want to start keeping my cat indoors full time to protect him. However, he is used to being an outdoor cat and is very unhappy being kept inside. He cries at the door and sits in the window yowling. He is getting very agitated. He is neutered but still loves to go outdoors. I don’t want to make him feel like a prisoner, but I have sadists for neighbors. How can I help my cat adjust to living indoors? What are some things I can do to help him not be so bored and unhappy inside?

I have two cats. One is fat and one is normal. They eat dry cat food from the same bowl. Canned food is too expensive and the cats don’t like it.

I have 2 cats (10Year old female & 5 year old male) both are de-sexed and neither leave my yard or fight with other cats that is until new neighbours moved in. Their cat has jumped over the fence and attacked both cats (on different days) while they were sleeping in back yard.The first time it attacked the male and really tore him up pretty bad. I approached the owner and was told that their cat was only letting himself be known then they said that they would keep it tied up. Yesterday it attacked the female and when I went to break up the fight my cat ran under the house and I can’t get her out, I don’t even know how bad she is hurt. The owner of the other cat just said “Tough Luck and that I should have taught my cats to fight”. How can I stop their cat from coming into my yard…Any suggestions??????

I just moved into a home with my adult cat - the home already has two adult cats. The two cats and my cat are not getting along and are hissing and growling at eachother all the time. The two cats don’t like my cat and my cat doesn’t like them. Will they ever get along, will they learn to live with eachother? Is it safe to let them roam free while i’m out or should i separate them. Any tips or advice will be EXTREMELY appreciated.

Hello there, my missus and I decided to take a cat we believe is a stray into our home and keep him. We had him nutared and have been loking after him for about a week (although we have had him around for almost 3 weeks now) He is a young cat and its taking time to build up his confidence of humans as he is not the most trusting cat, but we are slowly making progress. We also have another cat who is older and is having a serious problem adjusting to another cat in the house (but thats another problem).
Our main concern right now is that out new cat doesnt know about kitty litter , we have tried to place him in the tray but he begins to panic when we try resulting in a struggle and the cat running to the front door.
When he wants the toilet he scraps at the front door carpet quite severely until we open the door, he then disapears for about a day before returning.
How do you train a youngish cat to use a litter tray?

I have 2 female cats, neither spayed. The older cat ran out of the house for about 12 hours. She came home and now my other cat won’t have anything to do with her. Including eat from the same bowl or be in the same room. Why is this? Will my house ever be back to normal?

We have like 3 or 4 generations of wild cats outside. Two of them began to sneeze and had watery eyes. They would still eat and drink water, and seemed to be getting better when suddenly the mother cat and another sibling had the symptoms. Now just today, the uncle came around and he’s got it. If this is respiratory infection, can it be passed from one cat to another?

Most cats avoid strangers and aren’t much of lap cats, one of those cats is my favorite Egyptian Mau.
The only cat i know to be very social, loving and loyal is the Savannah but its illegal in NYC.
So what cat breed is warm, isn’t afraid of much things, playful, loyal and is a lap cat and doesn’t hide or hiss at strangers and other animals.
