Just to be safe. My cat used to be an indoor/outdoor cat and he never killed anything. We bought him a bird toy and a mouse toy. A few weeks later, he started bringing dead birds and mice into the house =/ So I definately wouldn't recommend it. I think they would associate the feathers with the bird and lose their fear over time.
