About three weeks ago a pregnant street cat got into our back yard and gave birth to three kittens. They are still here with their mother. How long will it take until the kittens are big enough and leave the back yard?

Also, is there a chance they won’t leave on their own if they find it too comfortable here?

I’m considering getting a cat. Most of my friends have indoor/outdoor cats — cats that like to go outside but come back in to eat / sleep. This might sound like a silly question but how do you “train” the cat to come back home? How old do they have to be before they can go outside and not get lost?

How do you tell if a female cat has been spayed?

We got a cat from a friend who said she had her sice she was a kitten (whick we found out to be a lie, she hit her with her car a few weeks ago). My friend promised to take her & get her spayed if we would adopt her. When she brought the cat back she said the vet told her it looks like the cat was already spayed. The cat is now acting like she’s in heat. She’s trying to run outside every chance she gets and she has sprayed on my wall a few times. I asked my friend & she said the vet told her that may still happen even if she’s already spayed. Is that true? Will a cat still spray if it had been spayed? I really don’t want to have the vet try to spay her if she’s already been spayed.
Well, I checked her ear & there was no “tatoo”. The vet said that they would have to do the surgery to be able to tell if she’s been fixed. I’m not sure what I should do now.
There was no scar on her abdomen but my other cat who I know is spayed also does not have a scar. The vet said that the incisions that they use now are so small that there is usually no scar.

How can I test if my Male cat would like a female friend?

My cat loves people but I work 40 hours a week and would like to get him a friend.
I’m pretty sure he hates all Male cats. When the Neighbors male cat comes to the sliding glass door my cat attacks the glass trying to get at the other cat.

But I think he might be ok and even like a Female cat. But how do I test this? I would hate to have to take a cat back to the pound.

I got him from the humane society at 5 years old, declawed in front. For all I know he has always been an only cat and likes it that way. But I feel bad when he is home alone.
Yes I would only get another declawed cat. Already declawed that is. I would not have that done to a cat but if I can find one that needs a home then thats great.
Yes he is fixed and any cat I would get would be fixed as well.
