Cats and Kittens

I adopted a 4 yr old cat last yr who is very independent and I know she’d be really jealous if I adopted a kitten. I have an option to try to adopt a kitten, if it doesn’t work out there is another family that can take it, but would make it a barn cat. If I took it it’d be an indoor only cat. I feel guilty for my current cat bringing a kitten into the house. Our current cat is so well behaved too, scared that the kitten could turn out to be a brat by scratching our furniture and stuff. Have you ever been in this situation? What did you do?

She does this almost every day, leaving the kitten meowing until I go and collect it and put it back with the litter.
The kittens are less than two weeks old.
It’s not always the same kitten.

It’s actually a stray cat and I’m planning on taking her to the shelter as soon as possible.

We have a cat that is about a year old and just got a kitten that is 12-13 weeks old. The issue we are having is that the kitten seems to have attached itself to our other cat. Everywhere our older cat goes, the kitten is right on his heels. We have to hold are kitten just for the older cat to use the restroom. When we separate the two cats, the kitten just whines and whines and whines. If she can’t see the older cat she continues to whine. Please help with suggestions and ideas. Will this behavior soon stop? We are worried that the kitten will get into a bad habit and not be independent.

My kitten will be 4 weeks old this Sunday. Her two siblings eat the kitten food very well by themselves; however, my kitty only wants mommy or the bottle. The problem with mommy is she doesn’t want to feed them nearly as often as before.

This is my first cat (from a kitten) and these are my first (and last) litter (3) of kittens. This particular kitten goes to her new home in just two weeks.

She will use a litter box, but is not interested in solid food.

I will be a first time kitten owner in about a month and am using this time to read lots of books about owning a kitten. One of the things I have come across a lot is leash training and toilet training. I have never seen cats do either of these before, and wanted to know if any of you have personally trained your cats to do these things or have seen it in action. Does it really work? Is it good for the cat? Can you start this training as a kitten? What are the best training methods you have used? I would love to get any first hand experiences and opinions on these possible kitten training methods. Your considerate thoughts are appreciated.

My cat has been nursing our newest kitten for about the past 2 months (I’m pretty sure no milk is produced and he does perfectly fine with his food). She is not his mother nor has she ever had kittens (she thinks she is his mom though). The kitten was 9 weeks when we got him and he started nursing from her a few weeks later. I thought it would stop relatively quickly since he was getting way too old to nurse but he is about 4 months now and she is still letting him nurse. Can she get any health problems from this or start having false pregnancies? If so how can i stop this behavior?

I have two cats. One 7 years old and the other is 10 weeks old. I leave dry food out for both of them all day and I keep the kitten’s food in my room and the adult cat’s food out in the hallway.
The kitten sleeps in my room at night and it seems that whenever I bring him out to play in the day time, he likes to run to the adult cat’s food. (Vice Versa with the elder cat.)
