My cat is about 2 years old, and used to be so gorgeous and hyper and all over the place. Since I got her fixed, she lays around and just eats, all day long. I had her on a diet until I moved in with my current roommate. I was feeding her one cup a day and she was doing well, loosing weight. But now my roommate’s cats are 13 and 14 years old, and they’re underweight. I can not find a way to limit her eating, and I can’t put her on a weight control formula because of the other cats. Any ideas?

I’m moving into an apartment soon and want to get a cat, the rules are they have to be fixed and they have to be current on shots. I’ve had cats before but have never taken them to the vet. I know I’m a bad owner but this time I want to do right by my future feline friend. So can someone help me? What immunizations should a cat have and at what ages? Is it just rabies or are there more?

Tony V asked: I have 2 healthy indoor cats. I want to get a 3rd cat from a shelter.
1. Which vaccinations should I give my current cats before getting the new cat?
2. How long should I wait after vaccinating my current cats before getting the new cat?
3. Should I test the cat TWICE for feline leukemia before I introduce it to my other cats? Or is ONE test good enough? I ask because if the new cat recently caught leukemia, it will not show up on the test yet.

I got a new cat about 6 months ago from humane society. She is a de-clawed cat that is very agresive to other cats. It was assumed that other cats have probley picked on her, and she was defenseless. I decided recently that I wanted another cat, so I picked up another de-clawed female in hopes that it would at some point allow my current cat to eventually like other cats. My new cats first day was like W.W.W. III. She was very shanken and showed a huge amount of agression, not only with the new cat, but also with me…probley because of new cat smell. I have since split them up in differnt rooms, and switched them back in forth in hopes that they will adjust. Just putting my old cat in the new cats room is a challenge itself. I was told when I adopted 1st cat that she did not like other cats. Did I make a mistake?
I dont support de-clawing cats. Just happend to adopt one.
