Cats and Kittens

We don’t have a cat, just dogs but we keep smelling ‘cat spray’ close to our front door! Hate that! Is there something that we can use to keep the cat away? We’ve not even seen the cat, he just leaves the odor behind! Our thanks to you for helpful answers!
I don’t want to shoot it but thanks for the other helpful ideas! That smell is, well, you know…yucky.

I’ve tried the usual fussing and showed them the plant while saying NO!! That didn’t work. They usually just play in the dirt but my Maine Coon likes to chew the leaves on my ivy. Any ideas? I don’t want to get rid of my plants or (2) cats either.

My mom and I try to keep both of our cats away from eating the leaves and petals of the poinsettias, but one of our cats is very persistive with always doing it.

My cat wants to sleep all the time. It will be pounching one minute and then lay down and go to sleep a few minutes later. All it wants to do is sleep. Sometimes while awake the cat will glare nervously at the ceiling fan. The cat will run from the room and hide if we turn the ceiling fan on, but will come back after it bas been running for a while. It will then leave if we shut it off and hide. The cat doesn’t like other people and will stay in hiding if we have company until about a hour after everyone leaves. I often find the cat sleeping in wierd places (bottom of the stairs, infront of the door, on a window seat, under the bed next to the heater) and in wierd positions (on its side like a dog, on its back with all four paws in the air, etc). Sometimes the cat will sit and stare at the wall. Is my cat just being a cat or does it have some kind of mental disorder?
