I have 4 cats and tonight I’m going to get another cat (not kitten) from a friend who can’t keep the cat. Does anyone have good suggestions for getting the cats used to each other quickly? How can I convince my existing cats to get along with the new cat?

How can I add a cat to a family of five dogs?

We have five outside dogs, and want an inside/outside cat. Does anyone have suggestions on how to get a new cat used to five dogs? Should we get an adult cat or kitten? For any of you who have both cats and dogs, what is the cat to dog ratio and how did you make it work without the dogs killing the cat?

I know all cats are different. But I have just adopted another cat. He is absolutely gorgous. I have another cat too. My other cat eats about 5 pouches of food a day with some biscuits sprinkled on top, so I am feeding my new cat the same too. But my new cat just want’s to eat all the time. Do you think I should feed him any more than I am already feeding him. Or is he just a bit greedy?

Thank you all so much.

I got a new cat about 6 months ago from humane society. She is a de-clawed cat that is very agresive to other cats. It was assumed that other cats have probley picked on her, and she was defenseless. I decided recently that I wanted another cat, so I picked up another de-clawed female in hopes that it would at some point allow my current cat to eventually like other cats. My new cats first day was like W.W.W. III. She was very shanken and showed a huge amount of agression, not only with the new cat, but also with me…probley because of new cat smell. I have since split them up in differnt rooms, and switched them back in forth in hopes that they will adjust. Just putting my old cat in the new cats room is a challenge itself. I was told when I adopted 1st cat that she did not like other cats. Did I make a mistake?
I dont support de-clawing cats. Just happend to adopt one.

I’m fostering an adult cat in my house but I also have an adult dog. I know the adult dog doesn’t get along well with other (usually male) dogs, but he’s never been around a cat before. I want the adult dog and adult cat to get to know each other, but I don’t want them to kill each other. The adult cat is pretty tame. I led my leashed dog to him and the adult cat didn’t mind–or when he did mind, he hissed. How do I get them to get used to each other?

How can I teach my new cat to be an outside cat?

I have a boy cat that’s already about 5 years old who is an outside cat. It works out great because I don’t have a litter box. I’m thinking of getting another 6 month old boy cat. Both cats have not been neutered so should I be ready for fights too?
ALRIGHT!!! I’LL GET THEM NEUTERED SO YOU GUYS CAN GET OFF MY BACK. LOL ONE DAY CATS ARE GONNA BE EXTINCT IF WE KEEP GETTING THEM FIXED - GEESH!

We have a 10 month old bengal cat and just introduced a 10 week old kitten at the weekend. It has been 5 days now and things have gradually improved but the established cat is still being a bit of a bully and out of character.

Interested to hear other peoples comments, experiences and in particular how long it took your cat to accept the new one?
To clarify a couple of Q’s: both the cats are bengals, the established cat (10 months) is female and the kitten (10 weeks) is female.
Oops I made a hash of that - let me start again, both are bengals, the established cat is FEMALE and the kitten is MALE. (sorry)

How can I help my new cat adjust to my other cats?

About a month ago I adopted a four year old cat from a co-worker who was moving and could not take him with her. He has gotten along with other cats in the past. I have three other cats ages four, two and one. I have been introducing them to each other slowly providing treats when I do. I have also brushed each of them with same brush to get each used to each others scent. My problem is that they still seem to not get a long. I do not feel that I can leave my new cat have the run of the house yet with my other two. Any suggestions would be great. Thank you.
