I think I’ve found a new species of animal. I found it outside this morning and I think it belongs to the cat family. It’s smaller than a typical house cat, but has a long tail and its ears are kind of pointy. It seems to really like climbing trees like my housecat, Angel Tiddle Toes, does.

I offered it some cat food, and it did nibble it, but I saw it later this morning with an acorn! Angel Tiddle Toes won’t touch acorns, so I think it must be a different breed of cat.

Has anyone else seen this type of animal, or should I call the local TV stations? Do you think I could make some money from finding this new species?

I have a new cat that I got from the shelter. I’ve had her for a couple months now. I feed both my cats 1/4 cup of food in the morning and 1/4 cup in the evening. My older cat will nibble at his through the day. But this cat will gobble up her food before I leave the house for work in the morning and then she cries for more. Or she throws up soon after from eating so fast. So I’m trying to give her a few tablespoons at a time during the day so that she won’t throw up. But she still wants more! She’s not supposed to have more than 1/2 cup a day for her age. And she’s healthy, not skinny. She’s just a pig! LOL!!!!! Maybe you have some ideas.

How do Cats and Dogs know which is cat food and which is dog food?

I have 2 cats and three dogs. One night, I ran out of cat food (the dry type) and my cats were hungry. So since I had dog food only and the shops were closed, I gave them dog kibbles. They’re more or less of the same shape and size and are made of the same ingredients - chicken. My cats took a nibble and refused the rest of the bowl, preferring to go hungry than eat dog food. The next day, i got them a fresh pack of made-for-cats kibbles and they immediately dived in and ate up. How come my cats knew what I gave them wasn’t cat food?

I also know of dogs that won’t eat cat food for the long run (not mine though, cos they’re pigs and will eat anything).

It would be good if a pet food manufacturer can answer this question. Is there some special ingredient you put in cat and dog food that makes cats and dogs know which kibbles is who’s? Also, nowadays, dogs are eating fish too - like salmon. You can’t say it’s the ingredient. How come they know the difference?
