Michael B asked: We have 2 kittens that survived out of a litter of 5. When should kittens start on solid food? We are keeping 1 of the kittens and a friend is having the other. When should they be separated from their mothers?

belidariku asked: The mother to 4 kittens that are barely a month old just died & now the kittens are left helplessly. My Question is, how can I take care of those kittens other than bringing them over to the vet, in particularly, in regards to feeding them since they still cannot consume solid food & they cannot sip milk from a saucer since they are still too young to know how to sip from a saucer. Please somebody help these poor kittens

I have 2 kittens that were abandoned by the mother. One of them has already started trying to eat solid food, but the other one is still trying to figure out the bottle feeding thing.

My cat had kittens on April 6th. Their eyes are open, they are walking well, but they are not eating solid food. I know I cant give them away yet. I am wanting to know how old do they have to be for me to give them away.

I have four week old kittens, and I was also wondering if I should moisten their food by soaking it in kitten formula or maybe water.. Any suggestions would be helpful!

Kristen asked:
I recently took in a 5-week-old kitten I found on the side of the road. I took her to the vet and was told she had a severe ear infection, but other than that she appeared okay. She’s been receiving her antibiotics and is now running, jumping, eating solid food, drinking water, and maintaining a normal life like any kitten would. The only problem is that the kitten has not gone to the bathroom in over 48 hours. What can I do to help with this problem? I’ve heard of rubbing a warm towel on her rear until she goes to the bathroom, but will this work for a kitten of this age? Will she do it on her own if I get her introduced to the litter box? I’m worried that something may be wrong if she hasn’t gone to the bathroom in so long, but she seems fine. Any advice?
