Most kittens will start the weaning process at about 6-8 weeks for some it’s earlier or later. In a couple of weeks I would try tempting them with food. I’ve usually found the kittens start learning toilet habits about the same time. But it won’t do any harm having a tray handy. Good luck. shaycos

6 weeks-ish should be appropriate, though it does largely depend on the kittens themselves. Be sure to make the introduction slower so that they don’t experience any digestive upsets.

Wet food is best for a cat overall, so that would be a good thing to start them on at that point. KimberlyS

Probably about 4-5 weeks. They sort of make their own little minds up. Friend of mine has some 3 week old kitties and they stiill use “Ma” as the milk truck but a couple of them (there’s four) dive into the regular cat food as well. GibsonEssGee

they can be litter train as soon as possible, when they are able to walk and take care of themselves. and kittens cat eat when they dnt need their mothers milk anymore so around 4 or 6 weeks. they know themsleves you just try every week and put a plate out. theyll know when to eat it of not. chhayjolly91

They are ready or getting very close to being able to start eating kitten food now. Just have it available and they will start eating it when they make their minds up. They still should have the mother’s milk replacement you get from PetsMart or the vet until 8 weeks, unless you get them their first shot to protect them from Feline Distemper(gastroenteritis) which can be fatal. They can have the shot at 6 weeks. Shirley T
