I would NOT go with a tuxedo cat. I had one for a long time and never liked it.

I'm not sure why anyone bothered sincerely responding to this obvious trolling attempt..... the sarcasm at the end should have clarified it pretty well. If you grew up with 2 mean cats, I suspect you weren't exactly nice to them and would recommend you stay away from animals until you learn to do better.

In my experience I have found the long haired black cats to be of mild nature. I don't know what breed that is. I would stay away from short haired breeds as they tend to have more energy. (But cats will be cats and there are always exceptions to the rules.) Adopting a middle aged cat will help with getting past the frisky stage.

I think nurture rather than nature may be in the equation here. If you want a cat that is friendly and cuddly, you need to get an adult cat that has been "road tested".

All breeds can be nasty if treated badly or roughly, kids can unwittingly train cats to attack, ambush and fight by their reaction to kittenish behaviour. A kitten can interpret a yell or running away as a reward for its ambushing or attacking behaviour - as long as the game continues, in whatever form, they take this as a reward.

Take a long hard look at your lifestyle be realistic and totally honest with yourself. If you still want a cat after your bad experiences, you need help choosing the right one, and then how to train and handle the cat so you don't repeat the mistakes of your previous experiences.

Once you know what you want, go and talk to your rescue centre, for example Battersea Dogs Home have loads of cats and they really do know the personalities of their available animals and will match you with the perfect partner.

I had a cat like that when I was a kid, she was a siamese.
She would hide around corners ambushing unsuspecting passersby. She would want to be petted on her terms, but if you walked up and pet her without her permission she would nip and growl. She was not abused at all, just had an odd personality.

I have never met a mean cat who wasn't abused. I have had cats for 30 years and never once has any of my cats attacked anybody. I have adopted cats who were mistreated and didn't trust people but with patience and care, they became friendly. It's highly unusual for a cat to attack a human and maybe you'd be better off getting another kind of pet - maybe cats really aren't your thing. Breeds have general personality traits but hostility is not associated with any breed unless you had mountain lions.

Sorry but I know of no cats that would fit that description. PEOPLE usually make a cat mean towards other people. They are not born mean and unfriendly.

I don't think any specific cat hates everyone. My mom has a tortoise shell that we had since birth and she is just a little pistol.

Her father was a wild cat so we just assume that's why she's a little meanie.

But I have heard tortoise shells generally aren't friendly, but I've met plenty friendly tortoise shells.

I dont know. Black cats are always nice though. Some darker colored tabbys tend to moan and bitch about things, but there aren't any breeds that hate everything.
