I also had a problem with cat litters. When I used scented litters I found I was sensitive to the perfumes in them. Then I changed the food I was feeding my cat. I now use Natural Choice Complete care cat food and I can use unscented store brand clumping litter and have no odor. Another positive side to the changing of the food was that I found my cats coat looks better and they shed very little. Before I changed foods I was embarrassed to have guests sit on my furniture because of the pet hair. I no longer have that problem. Even their Vet says they look great and are in great health and he is now recommending this food.
You can also try using a litter box that is completely covered except for a hole in the top. It looks like a plastic storage tote except for the hole. This box also keeps out other pets, like dogs, that like to check out the litter box. funjunk

Feline Pine.
I've had cats all of my life and I will never go back to clay litter.
You need to mix the clay litter and the feline pine 50/50 for a few weeks before your cat will use it the feline pine all by itself, but trust me--- it's worth it!! miang_flygirl2782

Costco sells a really awesome, minimal smell, clumping cat litter. I believe it is called Kitty Komfort. The price is really reasonable as well. Your best bet is probably any clumping brand of litter. You'll want to find types that have little or no dust (which is probably what your sister is allergic to). There are numerous deodorizers available as well which you can ask at your local pet store. Randall A

Hi, there are now a lot of different type of cat litters out there. Some that capture the odor well. Even the pellet for rabbits, or the cedar..

But in order to continue for odor to be off... is maintenance. I clean the box after the cat use it, then clean the box every month.

Here is a great link on cat litter brands.... TENI

If it is just the standard cat litter that she is allergic too, you can always switch to one of the new recycled paper based litters. There is one called "Yesterday's News" by purina, or even one called, FelinePine made from pine chips.

You can also use a covered cat box, that will cut down on the mess and the smell. Ladybird
