My friend told me how he introduced all 5 of his cats with no problem. First keep them in seperate parts of the house. take a clean soft wash cloth and rub it on one of the cats cheeks. Place the wash cloth under the other cats food bowl. Do the same for the other cat. Cats scent glands are in their cheeks and so by having the other cats scent by their food it will help them learn that the other cat is not so bad. after a few days get one big plate and a can of cat food and put little spoonfuls of cat food all around the edge of the plate. Let them eat together like this for a few days. after that he said he never had a problem. It really depends on the cat though. Hope this works! God bless! ican'tthinkofanything

No reason for you to introduce them just bring the cat in to your home and they will find each other and they will make friends or it will take a couple of weeks for them to get along. I have three cats and I did not get them at the same time and they get along very well

get two cat boxes and after i would say 2 weeks you can go back to one or until they start sharing the two

good luck Peter

Introducing a new cat to your household can be a trick sometimes. What I advise would be to bring the cat into the house in a carrier and set the carrier in the middle of the living room. Don't open it. Ignore it. Pay lots of attention to your resident cat. In an hour or so, set up the new kitty in a small room such as a bathroom. Potty box, food, water, box or kitty bed, few toys. The new cat needs to be in a small room because smaller spaces are more comforting to cats. Also talk gently to the cat so it gets used to your voice. The human voice can be very calming to a cat. The new cat will need to be in the small room all the time for about a week. You should visit the cat often and sit on the floor, talk to the cat and let her come to you.

While the new cat is in the bathroom she will be getting familinar with the sounds and smells in your house in a non-threatening manner. The cats will get acquainted under the door. After a week, just open the door. Leave all the stuff in the bathroom for now. In about a week you can gradually move it to the permanent location. You should plan on having one litterbox for each cat.

Keep in mind that cats are very territorial and heirarchial. One cat needs to be in charge. They are going to fight at first so they decide who is "top cat". This isn't always settled permanently. The cats may end up being friends or may only tolerate each other.

Sometimes all you can hope for is tolerance and then months from now the cats may end up being pals.

Try to think like a cat! (This is my place and who does this cat think she is? I don't know her.) Now you can see why this procedure is advised. Linda C

Put your new cat in a room with a closed door for at least a day. This gives the her a chance to get used to your smell, and your old cat's smell too. You'll overwhlem her if she has to deal with you, a new house, and another cat all at once, you have to give her time. Also, the old cat will be able to sniff the new cat from under the door. Don't try to force them together, it will only stress them out. When the new cat seems more comfortable and starts exploring, and you're sure your old cat has been sniffing her under the door, you can leave the door open and let the new cat come out on her own. kimbo010101
