when picking out my new kitten should i bring toys too see which kitten likes them better?
I love cats who play. My cat porky doesn’t play much. But I wish he did. But I thought if I brought the kittens a toy I could see which one liked it and hopefully its the kitten for me.
The 1st litter in black and white and white. The other litter is shades of white and grey!

You could if u wanted to. But the most important thing is to make sure it’s healthy. Check it’s ears, eyes and nose before you decide to take it then when you pick it take them to the vet so they can check it’s weight, heart etc.

well, u can…. but how i pick a kitten, is how they act…. i mean u dont want one thats like all the rest of them… u want one that has their won personality…… otherwise they r going to be boring, and u dont want that….. find one thats different from all the others… a good different, not bad and go from there…..

I would suggest you adopt the kitten from a rescue that keeps the kittens/cats in foster homes until adoption. Then you can ask the foster home provider if the kitten plays with toys and which ones s/he prefers.
Check 1-800-save-a-pet.com for a local rescue.

Here’s some guideline and tests you can do when picking up a kitty
1) Take the kitten by the neck. A good kitty will freeze as long as you hold him like that. If he tries to get out of that position I would not choose it because it could be an indication that mother was not around long enough to teach him the good manners.
2) If you have a chance to look at how he plays with other kitty or cats you should easily determine if a kitty is of the dominante type. The kitty who is on the back all the time when he fights IS the dominant kitten. Unlike dog submission position, when a Cat lies on his back, it means he’s daring other cats to come at him. Having his 4 legs ready to attack he’s much more dangerous than the standing cat who only have one or two legs to attack. Dominant kitty are good kitty because they are less afraid than non dominant kitty. It does not mean that they will be agressive or anything. It’s a good trait normally
3) Drop your keys near the kitty when he’s not looking and look at his reactions. A good kitty might stand back but will not run away. A very good kitty will stand back a bit but then will be curious and move a bit foward to examine the keys.
4) Keep in mind that cats plays one at a time. If you have a toy (strings, laser pointer and foil stick are good) and play with a lot of cat at the same time, you will notice that each cat will follow the stick but one only one will try to catch it at a time. The others will wait until the toy is destined for him or that it is closer to them than the cat who was playing with it. A cat that don’t respect that way of doing things MIGHT become a not-so-obediant kitty.

I don’t see why not…??
but.. usually a feather.. or string is the best..
start by picking the sex of kitten u want..
then the color..
that helps narrow it down.. some before u ever get there..
then once there..
select the kitten of the gender and color.. and now..
check the eyes nose.. and health issues..
take it aside..
as not to be influences by the other kittys..
put it on the floor or ground.. sit w/ it.. and see how playful… and if it likes the feather etc..
one at a time..
it is tooo hard to select one… when u have 6-7 of them climbing all over u..
U want to take the whole litter home with u..
good luck,, my Friend.. look at the yellow ones.. ok?
