Imagine my surprise when the vet told me he was closer 1 month! Some people just want to get rid of the kitties and don't care how old they are when they give them away. We didnt really have the "option" but it was so cool to bottle feed him! He was so little and fluffy! Now he is 6 years old and big and healthy . Both lost their mothers when they were very young. One was raised by people at the local shelter, the other by our vet. I don't recommend people taking kittens that are to young but there are extenuating circumstances in many instances where people are simply rescuing the kittens. By far and away it was the most inexperienced cat owners who wanted the youngest possible kitten to take home and they didn't want them spayed or neutered either. People feel that the younger the kitten the stronger bond they will form with you which is not true at all. Ignorance is the answer for this one. Wanting to be the *mommy* of the kitten.
