where did you find her maybe her kitten were near by does she meow alot wanting out. you should go babck where you found her make sure they are not there. if no kittens her teats will go down female humans can wrap they boobs in acebandages or in a towel to help the swelling and pain but not sure if you can do that with cats. call Vet see if you just ask them a few questions

hmm. We had the same problem, until we let her back outside after feeding her for 12 hours (not continuously) and she brought the little cats back one at a time to our house since she had learned that there was food there... We fed her and she in turn fed the little cats. They grew and became ambulatory. One ran off and was shot, as was the mother. After $1322.23 worth of vet bills ( I have the receipt[s]) both .38 slugs were removed and the family was able to continue its trek toward stability. Eventually we found a nice middle aged lady to take the whole family (mama cat, two kittens (ray and missy), and mama was by that time preggers w/ another, whom was named Arizona). They are all alive and well. MY point is this: How do you know she has LOST her kittens? If she is lactating, you should let her back out to see if she brings said young'uns (little cats) back to your place of dwelling). If you don't do this like: NOW, the little cats will die. Good luck. -beaver (Rock Island, Illinois)

takw her to the vet! if all the kittend died, there may be a problem with her. The vet can also give a shot to help the milk dry up. But make sure to try to find the kittens, dead or alive.

is this your cat that you lost then found? or did you just find somebody elses cat, because she may have the kittens still just not with her (more about lost kitty later)

if she is yours you need to "dry her up" by feeding crappy food with little nutritional value, such as tender vittles or most adult cat foods that you can get at grocery store, dont allow over eating though... any food with corn in first or second spot qualifies as crap food suitable for drying her up

lost cat info - it is considered illegal in most places to SIMPLY KEEP any cat you FIND you generally MUST REPORT finding them to your city SPCA, animal shelter or pound, so the person who lost the cat can know where it is and get it back

failure to report finding a cat or dog can result you being charged with THEFT

I suspect her kittens are probably alive and nearby unless you have found them otherwise dead

it may not be a problem, but it can become a problem and get infected. i have had this problem with one of my cats, it is called mastitis... should check with a vet.
it doesn't happen all the time, but it can happen.
you should go back to where you found her and see if you can locate her kittens.

Shouldn't be... actually happens the first time a cat has a litter... they don't know what to do sometimes, but learn as they grow older. It will go away in time. If you are going to keep her just try putting a hot wet towel on them if she will let you which will help her, if she won't let you, then, believe it will go away on itsown.... that is nature. Good luck, and Thank you for taking in a stray

You should try your best to find her kittens, they will die without her. Other then that, her milk will dry up soon enough.
